Class Rules
Class Video Record
Please remember to record each class and send the video into the ClassIn group. In the ClassIn group, click Files, then click Upload. The video is very important for future service and quality review. Failure to record may result in the corresponding class not being counted for payment.
Student Absence
If the student does not enter the classroom within 2 minutes after the class starts, promptly inform the group so the team can contact the user. If the student enters later, also notify the group. If the student still has not entered after 10 minutes, you may leave after informing the group, and 50% of the class fee will be paid.
Slot Time
Your regular working hours must include availability from 18:00 to 20:30 daily, at least 5 working days per week. The platform allows slots between 9:00 and 22:00, but 18:00 to 20:30 is mandatory.
Cancellation
Notify us of cancellation at least 1 hour before class. Otherwise, it may lead to customer complaints. When canceling, clearly specify the exact time slot or slots you want to cancel.
Slots Opening Time
Please only schedule classes for the following week from Wednesday to Sunday. Do not schedule classes on Monday or Tuesday. Please only set classes up to the following Sunday at most, and do not schedule more than one week in advance.
Regular clients are arranged first on Monday and Tuesday. After those times are confirmed with teachers, teachers can open remaining slots from Wednesday to Sunday.
Working Time
Our working hours are from 9:00 to 22:00. If you need to cancel a class, submit the request within this time frame, otherwise the class may not be canceled in time.
Demo Classes
Demo classes are assigned by a salesperson. These clients are not yet enrolled and want to try our teachers and textbooks. If the client enrolls after the demo, the teacher who taught the class will receive an incentive.
To get more demo classes, teachers need to help secure more enrollments through strong classroom performance and useful feedback.
Introduction Page
You may use the introduction page provided by PBEnglish, or create your own. It contains Chinese audio for questions that may be useful in the first meeting with a client.
Teaching Suggestions
Operations
- Open more time slots. The more hours you offer, the more parents you can reach.
- Minimize late arrivals, cancellations, and absences. Clients prefer teachers who keep stable attendance.
- If you must cancel, notify the client as early as possible. Later notice increases the chance of complaints.
- Write detailed post-class feedback and assign after-class exercises when useful. This helps parents see that you are responsible and serious.
Clarify Student English Level
- Starter: students understand a little and give simple responses, such as "What's your name?" and "Chris."
- Movers: students understand more and produce complete sentences without explanations, such as "I am Chris."
- KET or PET: students can produce complete sentences with explanations, but may have pronunciation or grammar mistakes.
- IELTS: students can produce longer sentences with correct pronunciation and grammar.
Goals by Level
Starter: Make students feel English is interesting and not difficult. Encourage often with smiling, clapping, thumbs-up, rewards, and simple interaction. Avoid over-correcting. The goal is for students to answer with single words through repeated interaction.
Movers: Keep students motivated while guiding them to produce complete sentences. Use interactive games as rewards. The goal is for students to understand the teacher and speak in complete sentences.
KET or PET: Help students give richer answers using the 5W1H framework. Correct pronunciation and grammar immediately when errors are heard.
IELTS: Increase speaking speed and encourage students to respond quickly with longer and accurate answers.
Interaction Games
How to Handle When Students Do Not Understand
Use the PBEnglish ClassIn Interpreter first
When a student does not understand your English, the first recommended tool is the PBEnglish ClassIn Interpreter. Open https://pbenglish.cn/classin-interpreter/ before class, sign in, click Start Class, and use Speak in Chinese beside your English sentence when the student needs quick Chinese support.
Google Translate should only be used as a backup when the interpreter is unavailable.
If the interpreter is not opened and the client reports that the student could not understand the class, the teacher may receive a complaint.
Starter Level
Slow down your speaking pace, reduce question difficulty, use more gestures and encouragement, and use Speak in Chinese when the student cannot understand. Encourage interaction through actions such as clapping, raising hands, smiling, or simple gestures.
Movers Level
Slow down, repeat when the student shows confusion, and use Speak in Chinese if repetition is not enough. Guide students to repeat words and sentences after you, and use more games and encouragement.
KET or PET Level
Explain in English first. If the student is still confused, use the interpreter to give a quick Chinese explanation, then return to English practice as soon as possible.
Feedback
Provide feedback as soon as possible after each demo class and post it in the group, so sales staff can contact the client immediately. Feedback should include:
- How the student performed, whether they understood, answered questions, and used complete sentences.
- Whether the material difficulty was suitable. If not, give suggestions.
- Which areas the student needs to strengthen next.
Write Detailed Comments
Short comments are not enough. Parents rely on comments to understand progress. Teachers who write detailed comments are more likely to win student favor and repeat bookings. Please write comprehensive comments for your classes.
Good Teacher Video Samples
These videos are important to study because they show strong teachers with fully booked schedules.
Final Quiz
After reading this tutorial and the teaching agreement, complete the quiz and answer all questions correctly. Once completed, let us know in the group chat so we can verify your result.
